Marthoma College of Management and Technology (MCMAT), Perumbavoor along with Laurels School of Management Indore, organized a National Level Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition “SCINTILLANTIA 2015” on 2nd December, 2015. One team consisting of two participants from 50 colleges participated in the semi-finals of Scintillantia 2015 out of which 12 colleges were selected for the grand finale of the national level inter-collegiate debate competition.
The prizes were distributed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Euyakim Mar Coorilos Episcopa, Diocesan Bishop of the Kottarakara Punalur Diocese, Marthoma Syrian Church, Mrs. Jaya Jacob Alexander, Chief of Human Resources, Geojit BNP Paribas, Mr. Varkey Abraham, Consultant, Shri. John M Chacko, Director, Laurel’s School of Management, Indore and Dr. Rajan Varughese, Director, MCMAT.
The best team St. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda consists of Ms. Devika Krishnan and Ms. Roshini Menon was presented with Shri. K. M Chacko Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy, Retainer’s Trophy and merit certificate. The cash prizes for the three top best debaters were Rs.15,000, Rs.10,000, Rs.7,000 and consolation prizes of Rs 3,000 each for 4th and 5th positions. All the winning debaters received merit certificate and were eligible for participation certificate. Ms. Mettin Jacob from Alphonsa College, Pala become best debater for Scintillantia-2015. First runner-up debater was Ms. Roshini Menon from St. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda and Second runner-up was Ms. Devika Krishnan from St. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda. Consolation prizes were given to Ms. Ashna K Ashok from Christ College, Irinjalakuda and Ms. Gopika Udayan from Alphonsa College, Pala.
